Ways to Give

Together we are making musical history.

Thanks to supporters like you, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra is making a beautiful story in Maryland, with music resounding on traditional and unexpected stages in every corner of the state.

As a BSO supporter, you help us to connect and inspire communities through the transformative power of music. You can support the BSO in a variety of ways with a gift that makes an impact now or a gift that will create your enduring musical legacy.

One of the ways major gifts can be recognized is through named funds:
  • A gift of $250,000 can create a new named endowed fund in the Baltimore Symphony Endowment Trust.
  • The OrchKids Fund in the Baltimore Symphony Endowment Trust, seeded in 2023 with a generous gift from OrchKids Founding Donors Robert E. Meyerhoff and Rheda Becker, offers an opportunity for program-restricted support by outright or planned gifts.
  • Open endowment funds, such as the Alsop Fund for Artistic Innovation, which supports bold artistic programming, or the Dana J. Schwartz Percussion Fund that supports the maintenance of the BSO’s owned collection. Ask for a full listing of our open endowment funds.

The Impact of Your Giving

$10,000

could enroll 3 students in OrchKids

With this contribution, you can transform the lives of three Baltimore youth with community-based, high-quality music instruction and programming that teach skills and open doors of opportunity in remarkable ways for one year.

$50,000

could sponsor a guest artist

A gift of this size could allow us to welcome one of the world's finest musicians to Baltimore, to a week-long residency – helping us to raise the bar for creativity and bringing a fresh perspective to our stage through rehearsals, performances and even masters classes with students.

$500,000

could endow a chair in the orchestra

A gift at this level creates long-term stability for a musician's chair while a signifying a mutual love for music and the BSO. The funds are invested and will grow with the BSO's Endowment while providing steady income to support a musician's salary.
